MONTEVALLO, ALA- The Thomas University Women's Track and Field opened their season at the Two Day Falcons Invitational Hosted by NCAA Opponent Montevallo University on both Friday and Saturday. Despite the grueling rain and wind conditions, the green and white found a way to break numerous records.
Sophomore Cassandra Richards paved the way for the Green and White in the 5000 meters, finishing with a new personal and school record of 20:19.43 for a 17th-place finish overall.
Sophomore Sophia Alexander led the Night Hawks in the 400 hurdles, notching a fourth-place finish with a new school and personal record of 1:12.39.
Senior Jennifer Coleman took a third-place finish in the Discus Throw with a measurement of 34.48 meters. The Thomasville, Ga native finished eighth in the Hammer Throw with a new personal and school record of 35.53 meters. Coleman also competed in the Shot Put with a 10th place finish (10.82 meters).
The Women's team finished 13th overall.
