DAYTONA  BEACH, FLA– The Thomas University Women's Track and Field team competed at the two-day SUN Conference Outdoor Championships this past Saturday and Sunday. One Night Hawk spotlighted postseason action for the Green and White. In order to qualify for the podium, the athlete must finish in the top three of their respective event. The top eight in each event earn points towards their team's overall standing. 

Senior Jennifer Coleman stepped up big time for the Green and White, accumulating a total of 19 points for the Women's team which marks the most points by an individual in program history. Coleman started off her weekend in the Discus Throw, notching a third-place finish with a throw of 35.78 meters. The Thomasville, Ga native also competed in the Shot Put, marking a fourth-place finish with a distance of 11.19 meters. Additionally, Coleman wrapped up her weekend in the Hammer Throw with a massive new school and personal record of 41.42 meters. 

Sophomore Cassandra Richards led the distance group in the 10,000 meters, securing an eighth-place finish for a time of 49.43.75.

Sophomore Victoria Richards marked a lifetime best in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:27.68.

The Women's team finished in eighth place out of nine teams.
