ALBANY, GA – The Thomas University Women's Track and Field team competed at the Alice Coachman Invitational hosted by Alabny State Univeristy on Saturday. The Night Hawks faced one of the toughest weather conditions this season at the Rober Cross Track and Field Complex throughout the meet. Despite the grueling conditions, two Night Hawks were able to boast a new school record, and they also happened to be twins.
Sophomore Victoria Richards competed in the 800 meter, notching a new school and personal record of 2:40.73 for a top ten finish (fifth place). Additionally, Richards stellar performance marks her fifth consecutive new school record.
Sophomore Cassandra Richards channeled her inner twin powers by competing in the 800 meter also for a top ten finish (eighth place) with a time of 2:57.14. Richards concluded her day in the 1500 meter, marking a new school and personal record time of 5:23.28 for another top ten finish (fourth place).
Senior Jennifer Coleman picked up a top ten finish in the Hammer Throw with a new school and personal record mark of 36.30 meters for a ninth place finish.
