ROME, GA- The weather was in the Green and White's favor for the first time this season, helping one Night Hawk make huge progress in her time as Thomas competed in the two day Berry Field Invitational hosted by Berry College this past Friday and Saturday.
Freshman ilaClare Whitlock competed in the 1500 meter, taking a new personal best with a time of 5:53.71. The Newnan, Ga native concluded her day in the 800 meter, taking 19th place with a new personal and school time of 2:51.18.
Freshman Rachel Garrison continues to show progress as the Tampa, Fla native notched a new personal best in the Discus Throw, taking 10th place with a mark of 29.65 meters. Additionally, Garrison finished 12th in the Hammer Throw, marking a distance of 29.90 meters.
Sophomore Jennifer Coleman grabbed a few points for the Women's side in several events. The Thomasville, Ga native took 7th place in the Shot Put with a mark of 10.17 meters. Coleman additionally competed in the Discus Throw taking fifth place with a mark of 35.79 meters and competing in the Hammer Throw taking ninth place with a distance of 33.66 meters. Jennifer concluded her day in the Javelin throw taking 11th place with a mark of 26.35 meters.
Thomas finished 14th of 15 as a team overall.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Green and White will enter post season play as the Night Hawks will be on the hunt for the SUN Conference Outdoor Championship banner in Miramar, Fla next Saturday and Sunday.
