Sasha Manders of Thomas (Ga.) won her first ever SSAC Offensive Player of the Week award for her performance the week of Aug. 26 - Sept. 1. She had a hat trick and game winner against D2 Albany State which she accomplished all in 33 minutes and an assist against the No. 24 team in the country for a total of seven points. Below is the conference release for the SSAC women's soccer player of the week awards.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. –
Sasha Manders of Thomas (Ga.) was named SSAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Angel Camacho of Brewton-Parker (Ga.) was named SSAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Aug. 26 – Sept. 1.
Sasha Manders (Thomas – JR – FWD)
- This is her first-career honor
- Manders totaled seven points on three goals and one assist on the week
- She tallied a hat trick, including the game-winning goal in a 5-1 win against NCAA DII Albany State
Angel Camacho (Brewton-Parker – FR – GK)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- Camacho produced 10 saves for the Barons against Spartanburg Methodist
- The performance came in a 1-0 loss
