CUTHBERT, Ga. - The Thomas University women's soccer program brought a high-flying offense to the Andrew College Fighting Tigers on Saturday afternoon, scoring its first of a dozen goals in the match's first minute en rout to a road 12-0 blowout; the third double-digit offensive output of the season for
Sergio Rapuano's squad.
Jordyn Keene broke loose and found the back of the net after the 49th second of the match, giving TU a lead they would run the rest of the day with. Seven minutes later,
Miasandra Mauro found Keene for another strike.
Isabelle Gabrielsson then maneuvered through midfield after the 12th minute, finding
Pearl Mortimer in front to swell the lead to three goals. The offense stayed on fire, with Mortimer connecting with Keene just a few moments later to complete the senior's second hat trick of the fall.Â
Up 4-0 through the first 13 minutes, TU nearly went another dozen more without scoring before
Jule Rohleder capped the quiet streak with a goal.
Makenna Casner then had her opportunity in the 38th minute land to make it a 6-0 Night Hawk lead. Rohleder spread the love to Mistie Fox Barker, who soared up and headed one home in the 42nd minute. Not done yet, Rohleder secured a brace with a few seconds to spare before the halftime intermission.
Rapuano's program (9-4-3, 7-3-2 SSAC) connected with eight of their 22 first-half shots while their defense didn't allow any Andrew attempts.
The scoring would slow in the second half, but it wouldn't stop. Mauro struck gold in the 77th minute to reopen the flood gates. Mortimer took another chance all the way just over a minute later to send TU into double-digits. A few offerings after some Night Hawk corners were turned away late, but ultimately Keene gained possession of a free ball and locked on with Casner for another TU brace. With time winding down, a Rohleder corner went straight to
Emily Boles for the header; the Night Hawks' twelfth of the day.Â
Chantelle Thomson (9-4-3) faced one second-half shot, collecting a save.Â
