MONTGOMERY, Ala – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday this year's postseason awards. One Night Hawk was honored for her stellar rookie year.
Kaitlyn Herb has been a game changer for the Night Hawks' offense this year as she played a key role in TU's success for their 2023 slate.
The Orange Port, fla native started off her first collegiate year with a bang after becoming the first and only person in our SSAC journey to be named the Offensive Player of the Week. The recognition came from her stellar performances leading the Night Hawks to back to back shutout victories, where she started her scoring festivities against NCAA opponent Huntingdon on August 23rd marking her first collegiate hat trick.
Herb then turned around and capped off an amazing midweek performance against Talladega on August 24th with a pair of goals of her own once again to rally a total of five goals during that week. She ended her week with a total of fourteen points and four assists, the remainder of the season literally became history for the true freshman.
Kailtyn Herb has remained in the top 10 nationally and throughout the conference the entire season in several categories. She has been ranked 7th in the nation and #2 in the conference for goals scored (19). Herb is also ranked 5th in the conference for points (48).
