Thomasville, Ga- Thomas University officially promoted Scott Gowan to lead both Cross Country and Track programs. Gowan fills the position after spending five months as TU's assistant coach for both programs before becoming the interim head coach of the 2022 outdoor track season.
During his time as the assistant coach for the Green and White, Gowan led one Night Hawk to an All-Sun Conference honor of the indoor season. Additionally, during the outdoor season Gowan had several accolades added to his resume. Freshman Joshwa Copeland was named the SUN Conference Champions of Character under the guidance of Gowan. The Telogia, Fla native was able to lead the men's track and field team to a fourth place finish which marked the highest team performance in program history at the SUN Conference Outdoor Track Championships, which included a program high of four athletes to All-Sun Conference honors and multiple new school records. The women's side also scored a program high of 30 points at the SUN Conference Outdoor Track Championships, with one athlete notching her first All-Sun Conference accolade.
