THOMASVILLE, GA- Junior Justin Tomison will embark upon a new journey Friday morning at the NAIA XC National Championship in Tallahassee, Fla.
Tomison is no stranger to Apalachee Regional Park. On October 7th, Tomison ran at the same course for the first ever cross country home meet in program history. The Buxton, ME was able to finish in the top 20 as he stayed with nearly the entire SCAD-Savannah pack that also finished in the top 20.
The National Championship meet will have 36 men and women's teams in the race along with individual at-large qualifiers including Justin Tomison of Thomas University. Tomison was one of the four at-large qualifiers from the SUN Conference.
Justin has had an impressive Junior season, setting a new school record of 26:17.5. Additionally, his performance has helped him earn All-Conference first team; becoming the first person in program history to notch the SUN Conference accolade.
"The improvement he has made from last season to now is a testament to how hard he has worked," said head coach Scott Gowan. "His goal from day one when he left for home in May to begin his summer training was to qualify for the National Championship!"
Justin will hit the course at 8:30am on Friday morning.
