THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's soccer team will open up their Fall 2021 season Saturday, as the Night Hawks travel to Mount Vernon, Ga. to face the Barons of Brewton-Parker College.
Saturday's matchup against the Barons will be the first of three away games to start the season before the Night Hawks host its home opener on September 8th.
The men's team is 2-0 all-time against BPC, recently escaping with a narrow 2-1 win in its most recent match.
After going down early on in the matchup on Feb. 27, 2021, a big penalty kick save in the second half from TU Sophomore Goalkeeper Josh Ricord provided the Night Hawks a swing in momentum. This momentum jumpstarted the Night Hawks late game comeback, and, in the end, goals from Senior Defender Samir Lopez and Senior Midfielder Mateo Arbelaez gave Thomas the win.
After spending the previous three seasons as an assistant coach for the program, Saturday's season opener is newly appointed BPC Head Coach Bob Neumann's first game at helm.
Kickoff at Booster Stadium is slated for 3:30 p.m. Fans can access the match live by following the links below:
