WSOC Unveils 2021 Schedule

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Women's soccer program officially released its schedule for the Fall 2021 season Tuesday, featuring an 18-opponent slate.

The Night Hawks are coming off one of its most memorable seasons in program history, electing to play a spring slate last year due to COVID-19 that featured a trip to the A.I.I. (now Continental Athletic Conference) Final and its first NAIA Tournament berth since 2004.

"We are all looking forward to continuing on last year's success," said Head Coach Julie Orlowski.  "The schedule will challenge us early and often with six opponents who participated in last year's National Tournament."

One benefit this season's schedule provides for the Night Hawks is limited travel.  Thomas will play on the road eight times during the regular season, with only three matches requiring TU to travel more than 300 miles.  Recently, the Night Hawks have been strong when playing at home, compiling a 12-4 record in the Rose City the past two seasons.

TU will open the regular season at home against Ottawa University Arizona, as the Spirit will be wrapping up its Georgia weekday tour.  The Night Hawks follow their season opener with three straight road games to take on Cumberland, Shorter, and Point Universities, respectively, over the next two weekends.

The Night Hawks will face a trio of opponents from the Southern States Athletic Conference, hosting Middle Georgia State on September 11 before hosting the University of Mobile and William Carey the following weekend.  "We have revived the Sun Conference/Southern States Challenge with SCAD, Mobile, and William Carey; we are excited to host four, quality games on campus" said Orlowski.

Thomas will then wrap up its non-conference schedule with its lone, night contest of the season September 22nd against Albany State on the road before closing out with Florida College at home on the 25th.

Thomas will open its Sun Conference slate on the road against the two-time defending NAIA National Champions in Keiser University on September 30 before travelling to Ave Maria to face the Gyrenes.  The Night Hawks follow up with a three-game home stand against Southeastern before facing Florida Memorial and St. Thomas.

The Green & White head back on the road for the final time in the regular season the weekend of October 21st to face the Sand Sharks of USC-Beaufort before heading to Savannah, Ga. to challenge SCAD-Savannah.  Thomas will finish the 2021 slate at home with contests against Warner on October 28th and Webber International on the 30th for Senior Day.

This season's Sun Conference Women's Soccer Championships will take place November 6-12.  The NAIA Tournament's Opening Round is set for the November 18-20 weekend while the National Championship in Orange Beach, Ala. will take place the week of November 30-December 6.
