KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Thomas (Ga.) senior linebacker Destiny Lockett is the first-ever NAIA Women's Flag Football Defensive Player of the Week after leading the NAIA in pulls (15), while intercepting three passes in a 4-0 start for the eighth-ranked Night Hawks.
Lockett got started with four pulls in a 26-0 win over LaGrange and followed it with nine pulls and a pivotal interception in a one-point win over Reinhardt (Ga.), 15-14.
Her top performance of the week came at Emmanuel, pulling two flags in the game but adding a pair of interceptions, both going the distance the other way for touchdowns in a 32-6 win to start the year 4-0.
The Night Hawks begin their conference schedule in The Sun on Saturday (Feb. 28), at No. 10 Life (Ga.)
