TAMPA, Fla. - Thomas University swept the Sun Conference weekly flag football awards on Monday, as freshman
Arie'Yona Christion was named Offensive Player of the Week and senior
Destiny Lockett earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Christion, a Fort Worth, Texas native, delivered a standout opening stretch to her collegiate career, impacting games at quarterback, receiver, and on the ground. Across four contests, she totaled 301 passing yards with four touchdowns, added 174 rushing yards and three rushing scores, and recorded 209 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. She also contributed defensively with nine total pulls and two interceptions.
Christion currently leads the NAIA in rushing yards (174) and rushing touchdowns (3), ranks second nationally in rushing yards per game (43.5), sits second in receiving yards (209), and leads the country in all‑purpose yards (402).
Her strongest performance came in TU's 40–0 win over Lees‑McRae on Feb. 21, where she completed 16 of 22 passes for 131 yards and four touchdowns, rushed for 124 yards and a score, and added an interception on defense.
Lockett, a Tampa, Florida native, anchored the Night Hawks defensively through the first three contests of the season. She opened the year with four pulls against LaGrange and followed with nine pulls and an interception in TU's 15–14 win over Reinhardt. She then delivered two pick‑sixes in Thomas' 32–6 victory at Emmanuel.
Through three games, Lockett ranks fifth in the NAIA in pulls (15) and is tied for third nationally in interceptions (3). Offensively, she added 480 passing yards and five touchdowns, along with 61 rushing yards and two scores.
The pair helped lead Thomas University to a 4–0 start while outscoring opponents 113–20.
