FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — Thomas University blitzed Emmanuel (Ga.) 32–6 on Thursday night, riding a dominant two‑way performance from Destiny Lockett, who accounted for all five Night Hawk touchdowns with three being on offense and two pick‑sixes to cap off a statement road win.
Thomas shook off a quiet first quarter and answered an Emmanuel score with a six‑play, 52‑yard march, finished by Lockett's 10‑yard rushing TD and a successful point‑after pass for a 7–6 lead they would never relinquish. Lockett then opened the second half with a strike, hitting Arie'Yona Christion for a 66‑yard touchdown, and moments later jumped a route for a 34‑yard interception return to blow the game open. She added a second pick‑six in the fourth and capped the night by finding Christion again from 11 yards for TU's fifth touchdown.
Lockett's line told the story: 8‑of‑17 passing for 158 yards and 2 TD, 4 rushes for 31 yards and a TD, plus two interceptions returned for scores on defense. Christion was her top target with 3 receptions for 109 yards and 2 TD, while Neka Dean added 5 catches for 34 yards.
The Night Hawks' defense owned the night, limiting Emmanuel to 84 total yards on 2.2 yards per play, with four interceptions, two by Lockett, one each by Christion and Trinity Converse and three sacks from Ja'Nessa Lyons and Iyana Harris. Yuleisly Hodgson paced the pulls with 10 solo stops and also handled the punting.
TU's offense finished with 262 yards (240 passing), highlighted by explosive plays of 66, 32, and 30 yards through the air, while the defense surrendered just 3 rushing yards and forced turnovers on four separate drives. Emmanuel's lone score came on a short second‑quarter pass but their only PAT failed.
Thomas University continues its non‑conference slate this weekend, traveling to face another NCAA Division II opponent, Lees‑McRae College, on Saturday at 11:00 AM.
