Thomas Concludes Season in SUN Conference Tournament

LAKE WALES, Fla. — Thomas' flag football season came to a close Thursday with a 32-7 loss to Life (Ga.) in the Sun Conference Flag Football Tournament.

The Night Hawks were held scoreless through three quarters, unable to generate consistent offense against a stout Life defense that recorded two sacks and an interception. Thomas finished with 184 total yards on 46 plays, frequently stalling in its own territory in the face of penalties and negative plays.

Eight penalties for 41 yards proved costly for Thomas throughout the game, disrupting several promising drives. The Night Hawks converted just four of eight third-down opportunities and were unable to sustain pressure in the red zone.

Thomas quarterbacks Destiny Lockett, Kam King and Arie'Yona Christion shared time under center. Lockett completed 7 of 15 passes for 48 yards, while King went 5 of 11 for 53 yards. Christion added 5 of 9 for 32 yards and an interception.

The Night Hawks provided a bright spot to close the game, putting together their best drive of the afternoon when it mattered least. Christion took over at quarterback and orchestrated a 13-play, 73-yard march that consumed more than seven minutes of clock. She capped the drive with a rushing touchdown with 52 seconds remaining, then converted the two-point try to provide the final margin of 32-7. Christion finished as Thomas' leading rusher with 50 yards and a touchdown on six carries.

Dyva Jones led the receiving corps with three catches for 34 yards. Yuleisly Hodgson paced the Thomas defense with five pulls and a pull for loss, while Jones and Jordyn Woodward each added four pulls. Kennedi Warren-Young averaged 31.3 yards on three punts, including one inside the 20.
