THOMASVILLE, GA | For the second consecutive week, the Night Hawks swept the Player of the Week awards for flag football in the Sun Conference. Sophomore QB,
Alexa Wilson (Daytona Beach, FL), won the award for the second time this season (consecutive weeks) and for the third time in her career. Freshman Rusher,
Kaitlyn Herb (Daytona Beach, FL), wins the award for the first time in her flag football career. Herb, who also plays soccer at Thomas, won a Player of the Week award in soccer, during the Fall, and was named the SSAC Freshman of the Year in soccer. Thomas won its three games by a combined score 142-0.
ALEXA WILSON

Wilson had a spectacular week, for the Night Hawks. The sophomore quarterback accounted for over 800 yards of offense. Wilson completed 81 of 107 passes (75.7%), for 758 yards, and 16 touchdowns, while only throwing three interceptions. Two of her three interceptions were picked off by Thomas opponents in the end zone. On the ground, Wilson ran the ball for 65 yards on six carries. She was not sacked in the three games played. Wilson accumulated a passer efficiency rating of 178.9. Wilson was the catalyst for an offense that averaged over 47 points per game. For the season, Wilson has passed for 2177 yards (197.9 per game), 38 touchdowns, and has completed 72.3% of her passes.
KAITLYN HERB

Herb was the driving force for a defense that shut out all three opponents this week. The Thomas defense has held four of the previous six opponent scoreless, and only gave up one score in the other two contests. Herb had 12 total tackles this week (11 unassisted) in three games played. Seven of her tackles were for a loss, with all seven being for a sack, setting the opponents back 40 yards, in the process. In addition, Herb had three pass break ups, all deflections out of the hands of the quarterback. For the season, Herb is second on the Night Hawks, with 29 tackles. Herb leads the Night Hawks in tackles for loss with 23, with 21 of those tackles counted as sacks.
The Player of the Week award is voted on weekly by the Sports Information Directors within The Sun Conference, based upon the nominations from each school. The nominations for the current award were for games played April 1 through April 7.
The Night Hawks will be home for the final time, this season. They will host St. Thomas, in a critical Sun Conference match-up on Friday, beginning at 2pm.
