GAINESVILLE, FLA – The Thomas University Men's and Women's cross country teams returned to action this past Friday morning at the Mountain Dew Invitational hosted by the University of Florida. Several Night Hawks were able to compete with some of the best in the country with multiple NCAA opponents in attendance.
MEN'S SIDE:
Three Night Hawks ran the 8k course. Senior Justin Tomison proved to be an impact runner for the Night Hawks as the Buxton, ME native led the Green and White in 119th place with a time of 26:52. Sophomore Landon Watts placed in 158th place for a time of 28:29. Emmanuel-Tovar Negrete boasted a 171th place finish with a time of 31:25.
Both Timothy Tulloch (176th place, 21:34) and Sterling St-Cyr (179th place, 23:01) ran the 5k course.
WOMEN'S SIDE:
The Women's side saw double the fun as Cassandra Richards led TU on the three mile course with a placement of 116th place with a time of 20:50. Victoria Richards rounded out the course for Thomas with a 137th place for a time of 25:07.
UP NEXT: Thomas will have a chance to rest and recover before starting their stopwatches on September 29th, for the annual FSU Seminole Invitational hosted by Florida State University.
