Night Hawks Ranked Eighth in Preseason Coaches' Poll

MONTGOMERY, Ala – The Southern States Athletic Conference officially released this year's Women's Cross Country  preseason coaches' poll as Thomas was selected to finish sixth on the season. 

 

William Carey University was selected as the favorites to take the XC Crown with 166 points and (10) first-place votes. Blue Mountain followed William Carey, as runner ups with 153 points and (1) first-place votes. The Roadrunners of Dalton State tabbed third with 141 points and (2) first-place votes. Loyola was selected in fourth place with 131 points. The Running Eagles of Life University notched fifth place status with 109 points.


The Rams of Mobile University was selected sixth with 103 points, followed by newcomer UT Southern with 94 points. The Green and White was ranked eighth with 71 points. Stillman College tabbed ninth with 59 points, as Point University was selected tenth with 48 points. 


The Knights of Middle Georgia was selected in the eleventh spot with 47 points, as Fualkner was tabbed twelfth with 35 points. The Barons of Brewton Parker placed thirteenth with 26 points to conclude the poll.


Thomas  will officially start their stopwatch on September 1st, on the road for the annual VSU Border Clash hosted by Valdosta State University. Runners will take their mark at 7pm EST.
