COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Thomas University 800-yard freestyle relay team placed third in the Sun Conference Swimming Championship held at the Columbus Aquatic Center on Thursday.

In the 800-yard freestyle relay, Francisco José Visiedo Pereira,
Ty LaRue,
Diego Alonso and
Ethan Kilgore took third, touching the wall at 6:59.18.

In the second event of the day, the TU relay team of
Spencer Sheard, Alonso, Kilgore and
Tim Brown placed fourth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:35.28. In the B-final of the same event, LaRue, Visiedo,
Chase Parman and
Akil Corbin finished 13th, posting a time of 1:42.62.

Individually, Alonso (1:55.79) and Visiedo (1:56.14) competed in the 200-yard IM, placing 12th and 13th, respectively.

Brown finished 10th in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 21.20, and Kilgore took 13th in the same event at 21.50.

Brown, Parman, Sheard and
Brandon Hailey finished 12th in the B-final of the 800-yard freestyle relay, at 7:21.66.

Keiser University leads the seven-team event with 246 points, trailed by second-place SCAD with 191. Thomas is in fourth place with 100 points.
