SUN Conference WSOC Quarterfinal Preview

THOMASVILLE, GA-  The Thomas University Women's Soccer team will host the Quarterfinal Round of the SUN Conference Championship on Saturday morning at 11am.

The Night Hawks (8-4-4, 3-2-3) will have a rematch against St.Thomas University (6-6-2,2-3-1). The last time both teams played each other was on October 29th, where the contest ended in a 0-0 draw.

The Green and White trained hard in preparation with a tough schedule as the Night Hawks competed against several ranked opponents. TU was able to notch a win against #24 Georgia Gwinnett and tied against two of the ranked opponents.

Senior Emily Lamoureax has made a big impact on the Night Hawks defense, after being named the SUN Conference and NAIA National Defensive POTW, earlier in the week. The Lake City, Fla native had a career setting season with 1.27 Goals Allowed Average while recording 72 total saves and just one shutout on the season.

Offensively, several players will play a big role in Saturday's matchup against the Bobcats'. Freshman Sasha Manders stepped up big time this season, registering six goals with six assists (18 points). Additionally, Manders posted a .556% Shots on Goal (SOG) percentage.

Senior Analeice Wilkes showed leadership as the Leicester, England native led the team in scoring with a total of fourteen goals with four assists (32 points), including a .517% Shots on Goal (SOG) percentage. Wilkes also sits in third in conference for goals scored.

RV St.Thomas University (7-6-3, 2-3-2) had an impressive showing against the Night Hawks last weekend, when both teams ended their nail biting contest in a draw. The Bobcats registered 23 shots on goal. STU only saw their best chances of breaking the seal off a corner kick from Bryanna Alzate to Sarolata Oppelland that was blocked.

STU heads into the Rose City averaging 17.8 shots per game, with a SOG percentage of .575%. Keiser also sits in second for goals with (17) overall as a team for the conference.  Karina Medina leads the team in goals scored (9) and only two assists. Defensively, Keeper Isabella Penarda has accumulated a total of 46 saves with just 1.32 Goals Allowed Average on the year.

Kick off is set at the TU Soccer Complex and is slated for 11am. The Sun Digital Network will provide live coverage of the match as live stats will also be available for access. Links can be found below:
