THOMASVILLE, Ga. - After striking home the Night Hawks' lone score in their regular season finale in a 4-1 loss to Xavier University (La.) on Tuesday, Pearl Mortimer outdid herself in more ways than one.

Her 13th goal of the year set a new career best. The senior from Bournemouth, England notched a dozen goals last season; the team's highest mark. Now in 2026, her team-best 13 goals and 38 points (with her 12 assists) have helped Sergio Rapuano's club to the postseason.

Mortimer scored the team's second goal of the season when TU opened its slate of games with a 10-0 drubbing of Florida College back on Aug. 22. The Night Hawks' offense moved around her through the whole match, as she totaled a season-best four assists on the day.

Her brace - and one more assist - against New College of Florida in the Night Hawks' first home match of the season helped secure a 3-3 tie against the Mighty Banyans.

The forward would proceed to go on a scoring drought - six matches over a month - without finding the back of the net. In that stretch, two more assists were added to her logbook. The second half of the season would see the switch flipped.

Scoring in six of the team's last seven matches, Mortimer accrued two more braces. One against Abraham Baldwin in a 17-0 affair on Oct. 15; the other coming two weeks later at Andrew, part of TU's 12-0 road victory.

The exclamation mark came on her own Senior Day, a 5-1 Night Hawk win over Wesleyan, with Mortimer celebrating a hat trick on top of the day's festivities.

In total, the senior finished the season with six matches notching both a goal and an assist. Her 38 points in total are the most since Kaitlyn Herb's 2023 season (48 - 19 goals and 10 assists).

Now, Mortimer and the Night Hawks prepare for the postseason. A first round SSAC Championship contest with the third-ranked UT Southern Firehawks is next on the docket for TU. Kickoff on Grissom Pitch is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 30 at 5:00 p.m. CST.
