Thomas Tabbed Seventh in SUN Preseason Poll

MIAMI, Fla. – The SUN Conference released its annual Men's Basketball Preseason Poll Thursday, as the Night Hawks were chosen to finish seventh out of nine teams.

The preseason polls were determined by the conference's nine head coaches.  Teams selected to finish first are given a first-place vote and eight points, as teams chosen to finish second received seven points, and so on.

Warner University was once again projected as the preseason favorite to win the conference with 58 points with four, first-place votes, followed closely by Keiser with 56 points and five, first-place votes.  The Seahawks claimed the 2020-21 SUN Conference Tournament crown after hitting a buzzer-beating shot to defeat St. Thomas in last year's championship game.

STU and Southeastern share the third spot with 48 points apiece, as Ave Maria came in fifth with 38 points and Coastal Georgia following behind with 29 points.

The Night Hawks edged out Florida Memorial for the seventh spot by one point, with Webber International rounding out the poll with the minimum total of eight points.

Thomas is coming of a 10-17 rebuilding season that included a conference quarterfinal appearance after being selected to finish ninth in last year's poll.
