MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Thomas University men's basketball collected multiple Southern States Athletic Conference postseason honors, led by freshman guard Jonathan Goldson, who was voted the SSAC Freshman of the Year, Second‑Team All‑SSAC, and SSAC All‑Freshman Team.
Goldson is the first Freshman of the Year in program history and Thomas University's first winner of an of the year ‑category award for a player since Justyn Watkins captured SUN Conference Newcomer of the Year in the 2013–14 campaign.
Goldson delivered an impact freshman campaign, leading Thomas with 14.9 points per game to go with 4.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.1 steals while shooting 46.8% from the field, 41.4% from three, and 83.6% at the line across 28 games (27 starts). In SSAC play, Goldson elevated his efficiency, averaging 14.8 points on 51.6% shooting and 47.2% from beyond the arc while adding 5.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in 18 conference starts.
Jonathan Goldson and Shane Payne were named to the Athletic Solutions All‑Academic Team, and Je'hvonni Hogan represented Thomas University on the SSAC Champions of Character Team.
