MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Thomas fell to 5-1 all-time in The Sun Conference (TSC) openers following a 2-1 loss at Saint Thomas (Fla.) on Saturday afternoon at STU Soccer Field.
"We battled well today and created many opportunities but could not get many shots off," Night Hawk coach
Julie Orlowski said. "I thought we controlled the ball most of the match but could not find the final pass for a quality look. Tactically we fell a little short of what we were trying to do, and they took a half chance from distance that decided the match. Overall I am very pleased with the work rate and heart displayed today."
Following a Jannel Johnson (7) goal on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute for Saint Thomas (5-0-1, 2-0 TSC), the Night Hawks tied the match less than four minutes later.

However, Andrea Wunch Manzur (1) scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 59th minute from 35 yards out.Â
