Night Hawks Top Brenau 5-2

Box Score GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University women's soccer team collected a 5-2 win over Brenau University (Ga.) on Saturday. The Night Hawks had five different goal scorers on the day and scored the first goals on Brenau all season.

The Night Hawks went to 1-4 on the season, while the Golden Tigers went to 3-1 on the year. TU hosts The Sun Conference/Southern States Challenge on Saturday beginning with No. 6 William Carey University (Miss.).

"We played a great game today," TU coach Julie Orlowski said. "Having five different goal scorers is always an incredible thing and a tribute to the talent of our team. Kara Houston had her first start and made quality saves for us. Anna Engman played fantastic in back line. She played really well and executed things we talked about. We're thrilled to come away with the victory and hopefully we take this confidence into the games next weekend."

TU scored the first three goals of the game. Linnea Roivas netted the first goal of the game in the first minute off a pass from Olivia Taylor. Katy Hanscomb collected the second goal in the 30th minute off a penalty kick.

The Night Hawks held a 2-0 lead at the halfway mark.

Kayla Folse netted the game winning goal and put TU up 3-0 in the 50th minute with an assist from Taylor.

Jensen Meaux scored the first goal for the Golden Tigers in the 53rd minute and cut the Night Hawks lead to 3-1.

Taylor collected a goal of her own in the 61st minute with an assist by Rebekah Wiltshire. TU ended its scoring in the 65th minute with a goal from Wiltshire assisted by Folse and Taylor.

Iman Williams scored the last goal of the game for Brenau with an assist from Kyree Taylor.

Houston generated six saves in goal during her TU debut.
