Night Hawks Top SCAD Savannah in Overtime

Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Thomas University women's soccer team came away with a 2-1 overtime victory over SCAD Savannah Tuesday night at the SCAD Athletic Complex. TU collected a No. 3 seed in The Sun Conference Tournament with the win.

The Night Hawks ended the regular season with a 9-8, 8-2 Sun Conference record, while the Bees closed the season with an 8-9-1, 6-3-1 TSC record.

"Great win, great team win," TU coach Julie Orlowski said. "Sometimes a great team has to grind to get a good win and today we had to grind pretty hard. We are looking forward to the future."

SCAD scored the first goal of the game on the free kick that struck the upper 90 of the goal.

Katy Hanscomb tied the game with a far post, side netting goal after she dribbled a couple defenders.

TU's Kara Houston made a save and pushed the ball over the top bar that sent the game into overtime.

Less than six minutes into the first overtime, Olivia Taylor dribbled a few SCAD defenders and struck a near post shot that gave the Night Hawks the victory.

The Night Hawks host the No. 6 seed St. Thomas at noon on Saturday at the TU Soccer Complex.
