Box Score Thomas University Women's Soccer (3-2) (TSC 0-0) dominate the Florida Memorial Lions (1-5) in a 5-1 defeat.
TU struck first as Freshman
Kaleigh Premo (1G) drives in a goal from an assisted ball off the boot of Freshman
Bethany Chamberlain (2A), putting the Lady Night Hawks ahead 1-0. Florida Memorial would answer back at the eight and a half minute mark, knotting the game at 1-1. Thomas would step to the occasion as Junior Mackenzie Dolan (1G) would answer with a goal of her own from an assist by Chamberlain at the nine and a half minute mark, putting TU back in the lead 2-1.
Just four minutes before halftime, Junior
Adrianna Johnson (1G) would lengthen TU's lead to 3-1 as she netted a goal on a free kick at the top of the box. Freshman
Linnea Roivas (1G) and Junior
Alyssa Denton (1G) would add to FMU's deficit as they each launch a goal of their own, giving the Lady Night Hawks the substantial 5-1 lead.
"Our girls never stopped playing. They attacked the ball and took opportunities to score when they were given the chance," said TU Head Women's Soccer Coach,
Julie Orlowski. "The girls have shown tremendous improvement through the weeks, and we look forward to the rest of the season ahead."
TU will be back in action Sunday, September 14
th as they travel to Auburn – Montgomery to lock up at 2pm.
