Box Score Thomas University's Men's Soccer (12-1-3) (TSC 7-1-1) stopped conference opponent Embry-Riddle University (Fla.) (5-4-3) (TSC 5-3-1) in a 2-1 victory.
The Night Hawks opened up the match early as Freshman
Jonathon McGrath (1G) delivered a goal in the 12
th minute from an assist off the foot of Sophomore
Severin Abt (1A), giving TU a 1-0 lead for the remainder of the first half. Thomas' defense proved dominant as they held the ERU offense scoreless through the first half of the match.
TU scored yet another goal just one minute and forty-six seconds into the second half off the boot of Sophomore
Antoine Akoure (1G), assisted by Sophomore
Jake Slocombe (1A). ERU wouldn't go down scoreless as they netted a goal of their own in the 83
rd minute. Sophomore
Alex Condell is intimidating between the poles, collecting 6 saves on the night.
Thomas took fourteen shots tonight, seven of those fourteen shots were on goal.
"We came out and did what we needed to early. We put their backs against the wall early and continued to play our game," said Head Men's Soccer Coach,
Ricky Zambrano. "We had to shift some guys around out there tonight, but in the end they proved to me they were capable of getting the job done."
The Night Hawks will wrap up their 2014 regular season play on Wednesday, October 29
th with their final conference match up against the SCAD-Savannah Bees in Savannah, GA at 7:00 P.M.
