Box Score Thomas University's Women's Soccer (9-5) (TSC 5-1) took control over Middle Georgia State College (0-9-3) in a 5-1 blood bath.
The Lady Night Hawks took the game virtually out of reach in the first half as they delivered 4 goals. Junior
Mackenzie Dolan (2G) drew first blood just 14 minutes into the game as she fired a goal on a free kick, giving the Lady Night Hawks the 1-0 lead over the MGS Knights. Sophomore
Dara Propst (1G) netted a goal off the double assist from Junior
Adrianna Johnson (1A) and Junior
Alyssa Denton (1A), expanding their lead to two. Dolan struck again as Freshman
Kaleigh Premo (1A) delivered an assist on a cross, stretching the lead to 3-0 over the Knights. Freshman
Olivia Taylor (1G) added on to the TU lead as she fired a goal from the top of the box, putting Thomas ahead 4-0 before halftime.
TU wasn't finished yet, as Senior
Jenny Hernandez conveyed a goal on the day, putting TU ahead of the Knights 5-0. The MGS Knights wouldn't allow for a shutout as they brought in a goal of their own with just twelve-minutes lingering on the clock.
"We came off of a loss with determination," said Head TU Women's Soccer Coach,
Julie Orlowski. "We have a tough road ahead as we wrap up our season. It is critical that we look forward, and continue to strive towards our goal."
Thomas looks to continue their conference run as they take on No. 2 Embry Riddle on Saturday, October 18
th at 3:00 PM where they will also honor their Lady Night Hawk Seniors.
