Night Hawk Men’s Soccer Drops First TSC Match, Unbeaten Streak Snapped

Freshman Midfielder Severin Abt
Box Score
The 20th ranked Night Hawks men's soccer team (12-3-2, 7-1-2) dropped their first Sun Conference match of the 2013 season this evening in a 2-1 loss to SCAD - Savannah (8-5, 6-4), snapping a twelve game unbeaten streak that dates back to September 2nd.

SCAD took the early advantage with a goal just five minutes into the game, taking advantage of a lack of communication by TU on the defensive side of the ball. The Night Hawks turned the game around fifteen minutes into the game, keeping the ball on the SCAD half of the field and forcing the goalkeeper to make a difference. Three minutes before the half, freshman midfielder Severin Abt evened the score when he received a cross field pass from senior defender Steven Conway and fired a 30 yard shot into the upper right hand corner of the opponent's goal. SCAD would once again take the lead with a goal in the game's 52nd minute, on yet another TU defensive lapse. Thomas would pour on the pressure the remainder of the half but it would not be enough as they were turned away by the SCAD goalkeeper, the pole and the crossbar.

Thomas soccer concludes their regular season having won ten of their last thirteen and will be the #2 seed in The Sun Conference Tournament. TU will host a first round quarter final match at 2PM on Saturday November 9th against an opponent that is yet to be determined.
