Sophomore Tess Wright has been named the Student-Athlete of the week for January 4-10, 2016.
This past weekend, Wright recorded a career single-game high 20 point performance, lifting the women's basketball team to its second Sun Conference victory of the 2015-16 season defeating Keiser University 66-61 in a double overtime thriller. The Calhoun, Ga., native went a perfect 6-for-6 from behind the arch and netted both of her free throw attempts on the afternoon. Wright’s biggest shot of the day came with 23 ticks left in the fourth quarter when she tied the game at 48-48, forcing overtime. Wright is averaging 7.2 points a game and has seen action in all of Thomas’ 13 games this season starting in nine.
