Tate Lambert has been named the Student-Athlete of the week for March 30-April , 2015.
Lambert has been a dominate force for the Night Hawks all season. The left-hander boasts a 3.63 ERA and a 4-4 record. Lambert, a native of Bainbridge, Ga., has recorded 50 strikeouts this year placing him 36th in the NAIA. So far this season, Lambert has only allowed 18 runs in his 11 appearances. This past week, the 5-foot-10 freshman had two appearance for Thomas. During the team’s extra innings loss to Middle Georgia, Lambert pitched two shutout innings allowing just one hit while striking out three. On Friday, Lambert led the Night Hawks in their 3-1 upset victory over No. 18 Embry Riddle. The lefty threw seven shutout innings recording nine strikeouts while only surrendering five hits.
