MOBILE, Ala. - The Thomas University Night Hawks surged past the University of Mobile Rams at The Jungle on Thursday night, 2-0, courtesy of senior forward

Pearl Mortimer put the first shot on goal for Thomas in the tenth minute, but it was saved by the Rams' goalkeeper. Just before the 15-minute mark in the first half,
Alicia MacLeod took the ball away from a charging Ram. A few quick passes saw Thomas send pressure towards the box after a mid-air deflection from a Mobile defender. Mortimer took off, corralled the ball at the top of the box on the left side, and split it through another defender's legs with a pass to a sprinting Keene across the right for her first score of the season.

Angelina Munoz and
Miasandra Mauro were denied to maintain a 1-0 lead through the half.
Sergio Rapuano's squad would not relent after the intermission, but the Mobile keeper sent away shots from Mortimer, Mauro, and
Matthildur Traustadottir during the second half.
After the 70th minute, the Mobile keeper stepped up and tried to clear a free ball but kept it low enough and close enough for Keene. The senior dialed up a shot from distance with the keeper at the top of the box, connecting with the back left corner of the net to double the advantage.
Chantelle Thomson (2-3-2) kept a clean sheet, making four saves. Thomas logged a dozen shots with eight on goal, compared to Mobile's eight shots in total.
Thomas (2-3-2, 1-2-1 SSAC) continues Alabama action against Faulkner on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 2:30 p.m. ET at Stallings Field, searching its sixth-straight win over the Eagles.
