THOMASVILLE, Ga - The Thomas University Night Hawks and the Dalton State College Lady Roadrunners could not decide a victor after 90 minutes of action at the TU Soccer Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Jordyn Keene and
Emily Boles both rattled off early shots before the first-half hydration break but the Dalton State goalkeeper kept each offering in front of the net.
Pearl Mortimer gave the ball a boot right out of the pause in play as well but her attempt was turned away.
Chantelle Thomson (1-3-2) made a pair of saves before the half, keeping the scoreless tie through the first 45 ticks.
In the 55th minute,
Makenna Casner drew a whistle and lined up for a penalty kick. Playing it low, she connected for her second goal of the season to put Thomas in front, 1-0.
Dalton State mounted pressure down the stretch. In the 86th minute, the Lady Roadrunners placed a shot from distance and found the back of the net to level the match.
The ball was controlled in the middle third of the field for the remaining four minutes, resulting in the Night Hawks' second tie of the season.
Thomas (1-3-2, 0-2-1 SSAC) continues the campaign on the road on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 6:00 p.m. at RV University of Mobile, searching for its first win over the Rams since 2021.
