THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The Thomas Night Hawks fought back in the second half with
Ethan Moore's seventh goal of the season but ultimately fell to the Life University Running Eagles on Thursday night at the TU Soccer Complex by a score of 3-1.
A pair of first-half goals by Life put the visitors in front at the half. While Moore,
Edward Sack and
Will Nye all put boots on the ball, the Running Eagle goalkeeper denied all attempts before the intermission.
Moore located the back of the net in the 55th minute off a quick pass from
Juan Manuel Molina to bring Thomas within one, but a blistering attack from Life saw the lead swell back to two just a few seconds later.
The duo both sent shots down the stretch, but neither could connect. Thomas had to play a man down after a 73rd minute red card, and the Running Eagles controlled the tempo the rest of the way to secure the road win.
Damien Fortin (3-4) made nine saves on the match. Thomas (4-4, 0-2 SSAC) returns to the TU Soccer Complex on Saturday against RV Dalton State College at 1:30 p.m. Last season, Thomas worked a 2-2 tie against the then-top-ranked Roadrunners on the road, bringing the all-time series to a 5-1-1 Dalton State advantage.
