HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Thomas University women's soccer program was blanked on the road against a top-ten William Carey Crusaders team to begin SSAC conference play on Saturday afternoon, dropping the match by a score of 7-0.
Down 2-0 early,
Jule Rohleder and
Pearl Mortimer both let shots fly but neither could connect. William Carey tacked on one more before the intermission.
The Crusaders kept up pressure in the second half, adding four more goals in the final 45 minutes.
Emily Boles and
Elizabeth Morgan both had tries at the net but Thomas was still kept off the scoreboard down the stretch.
Thomas (1-2-1, 0-1 SSAC) returns to the TU Soccer Complex on Thursday, Sept. 17 against a conference foe; 12th-ranked Life University comes to town at 2:00 p.m.
