BLUE MOUNTAIN, Ms – The Thomas Night Hawks put on a clinic against the Blue Mountain Lady Toppers, winning 16-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The scoring opened early for the Night Hawks as Pearl Mortimer scored on a strike from the corner of the box in the first minute.
Jule Rohleder added on in the fourth minute, getting by the keeper for a smooth finish.
Rohleder played a hand in another goal as she found Ali Baca who's shot rolled off the hands of the keeper.
Following the goal, in the 15th minute, Madelyn Musgrove added a goal of her own on a tap in following a save.
A couple of minutes later, Mortimer got her second goal of the match, thanks to a setup by Baca.
Freshman Mistie Fox-Barker earned her first goal in her Night Hawk career, hitting a beautiful shot from just outside the box.
Then, a pair of Night Hawks also found their first goals of the season as Nike Henschel and Elsebeth Andersen both found the back of the net.
Fox-Barker added another goal in the 30th minute with a tap in after a corner.
Next, another freshman score her first career goal as Kaliah Greene hit paydirt off of a nice pass from fellow freshman Lina Munoz.
The last goal of the half came from Musgrove as she knocked in a header off of a corner in the 39th minute.
Holding an 11-0 score going into the second half, Thomas continued the attack as Mia Mauro scored her first goal as a Night Hawk, with Rohleder slipping into the box to Mauro.
Andersen and Greene added two more goals to their totals, while Alicia MacLeod and Hannah Henriksen scored their first goals of the season respectively.
Eleven different Night Hawks scored a goal and five Night Hawks had multiple goals; both are the most in program history in the modern era.
The 16-0 win is the largest margin of victory as well as the most goals scored in the modern era.
Thomas will return home for a non-conference match against #19 Georgia Gwinnett on Wednesday, September 24th at 4:00 p.m.
