Night Hawks shut out Warriors to advance to NAIA Semifinal

RIVERSIDE, Mo. — Behind a red-hot start and a stifling defensive effort, Thomas University rolled to a 33-0 shutout victory over Webber International in the quarterfinals of the NAIA Flag Finals on Wednesday morning at the KC Current Practice Facility.

The Night Hawks were firing on all cylinders early, scoring 13 points in each of the first two quarters to seize full control. Quarterback Alexa Wilson led the offensive charge, completing 21-of-22 passes for 208 yards and five touchdowns without a turnover. Her precision passing found multiple targets, with Kiana Acol hauling in two touchdowns and Zoe Jackson, Maddie Hougland, and Dyva Jones each adding one of their own.

Thomas' defense was equally dominant, holding the Warriors scoreless and forcing two interceptions, including one apiece by Nakerra Brown and Kiera Knight. The unit racked up two sacks, both credited to Kaitlyn Herb, and limited Webber to just 43 rushing yards and 211 yards of total offense.

The Night Hawks outgained Webber 287-211 despite running fewer plays and not recording a single punt. Thomas capitalized on key field position opportunities, converting four of six red zone trips into touchdowns.

With the win, the Night Hawks advance to the semifinals where they will renew their rivalry with the defending national champions, the Ottawa Braves later today at 4:00PM EST / 5:00PM CST. The winner will advance to tomorrow's national championship game.
