COCHRAN, Ga.— The Thomas Night Hawks fought hard on the road to win both games in the doubleheader against Middle Georgia State Knights on Friday evening.

Thomas 9 Middle Georgia 5
Down by two runs entering the seventh inning, The Night Hawks erupted for six runs to complete a thrilling 9-5 comeback victory over the Knights.

Designated hitter Carson Thomas played a key role in the offensive surge, reaching base twice and scoring two runs as Thomas snapped a three-game losing streak. The visitors trailed 5-3 before capitalizing on Middle Georgia State's pitching struggles and defensive miscues to seize control late.

Thomas first got on the board in the fourth inning when M. Pickert doubled and later scored on a fielder's choice. The offense then chipped away in the fifth with two runs, setting the stage for the seventh-inning explosion. Cameron Tyson delivered a clutch two-run homer, and Michael Sowers added a two-RBI single to break the game open.

Jaxon Smith earned the win in relief, tossing three scoreless innings and striking out three and Brandon Steele shut the door in the seventh, recording two strikeouts in a perfect frame.

Middle Georgia State struck early, plating three runs in the second and two in the third behind a home run from Chaz Salter. However, the Night Hawk pitchers settled in, holding the Knights scoreless over the final four innings.

A strong offensive performance and dominant pitching led Thomas to a commanding 9-2 victory over Middle Georgia.

Thomas wasted no time setting the tone, plating five runs in the first two innings and never looking back. The visiting Night Hawks collected 14 hits, capitalizing on timely hitting and Middle Georgia's defensive struggles.

Tyler Marczak powered the offense with a four-hit performance, driving in a run and scoring once. Carson Thomas contributed a key RBI and reached base three times, while Seth Waltimyer scored twice and stole two bases to keep pressure on the defense.

On the mound, Sawyer Smith was stellar in relief, throwing 5.1 innings while allowing just one run on four hits with four strikeouts. Starter Reily Kuhar worked 3.2 innings, giving up one run while striking out two.

Middle Georgia State managed 10 hits but struggled to convert opportunities, leaving 13 runners on base. The Knights' only runs came in the fourth and eighth innings.
