Â
AJ Wydra got the start and immediately set the tone, starting off the game with a one-two-three inning to get Thomas up to bat.
Elias Garcia led off the inning with a walk and Mike Sowers singled into left to get runners on with no outs. Cam Tyson tried to load the bases with a bunt, however the Eagles caught Garcia at third to keep only two guys on the bases.

A wild pitch from Faulkner starter Tyler Wilhite sent Borgert home. Then in the third, a hit by Marczak sparked another rally which had the bases loaded for Garcia who drew a walk to bring home another run.
Â
While the bats were swinging away, the ace stood firm throwing three hitless innings and striking out six.
