MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Thomas Night Hawks delivered a commanding performance Friday night, shutting out NCAA DI Alabama State 46-0 in a dominant road victory.
Thomas wasted no time establishing control, with quarterback
Alexa Wilson connecting on an early 3-yard touchdown pass to
Gisele Jones in the first quarter.
The offense continued to surge in the second quarter, as
Keelin Coleman found
Kiana Acol for a 7-yard score before
Destiny Lockett extended the lead with a 15-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Wilson led the passing attack with 135 yards and three touchdown passes, while Coleman and
Holly Neher each added a touchdown through the air. The receiving corps was led by Jones and
Kendall D'Aprile, who both secured two touchdown receptions.
Defensively, Thomas overwhelmed Alabama State, forcing four interceptions and recording five sacks. Lockett, D'Aprile, and
Janae Scott each recorded a pick, with Lockett returning hers for a score.
Kaitlyn Herb led the defensive front with three sacks, keeping Alabama State's offense in check throughout the game.
Thomas will look to continue their momentum tomorrow afternoon as they continue their road trip, travelling to take on Point University in a conference matchup at 1:00pm
