MOBILE, ALA- Thomas showed their offensive prowess by defeating LSU Alexandria 3-2 in a neutral site game on Monday afternoon.
The match featured another impressive offensive outing for the Night Hawks as
Kaitlyn Herb opened the scoring in the 29
th minute off assists from
Aquene Tollefson and
Jule Rohleder. The Generals tried to answer back, posting four shots (one on goal) but the Night Hawks stood strong to take a 1-0 lead to the half.
Coming out of the break, it did not take long for Thomas to score with "Herbie" putting up another goal off of an LSU-A penalty to bring the lead to 2-0,
Hannah Henriksen got in on the scoring as she connected with fellow freshman Rohleder, extending the lead 3-0. The Generals however, did not go away quietly. As a couple of quick goals put them in striking distance to force a tie, but again the Thomas defense held on for a 3-2 victory.
This ends a three-game road trip for the Night Hawks as they will return home later this week to face Talladega on Thursday at 2:00 PM
