THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Night Hawks opened conference play on Wednesday afternoon at TU Soccer Complex against No. 7 ranked Running Eagles with a final score of 5-2.
The Night Hawks etched their names onto the scoreboard first in the 16
th minute when
Kaitlyn Herb raced past a defender and chopped a pass toward
Pearl Mortimer who found the back of the net. The Running Eagles answered back in the 27
th minute with an equalizer from Jeanne Brigand. Life struck again 11 minutes out of the second half with a score from Sacha Millware to put the Running Eagles ahead.
Pearl Mortimer answered right back herself for a brace 27 seconds later to tie the match once again. Life picked up momentum after a goal in the 58
th minute from Millward to give Life the lead they never lost.
Seven Thomas players each totaled 90 minutes. Thomas had 12 total shots with eight of them on goal.'
Emily Lamoreaux stood all 90 minutes in goal with six saves.
The Night Hawks (3-4, 0-1 SSAC) return to action this weekend at home for another in state conference matchup against Dalton State College. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. EST on Saturday at the TU Soccer Complex.
