THOMASVILLE-Ga, Thomas dropped a tough one vs Southeastern, losing 4-2 on a rainy Wednesday afternoon at the TU Soccer Complex.
The game was very physical from the start as the former conference rivals tried to gain the upper hand on one another. The Fire opened the scoring early, netting one in at the 6th minute. However, the match up went into a stalemate as both teams failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Southeastern managed to break through for two more goals, taking a 3-0 lead into the half.
The onslaught continued as a quick goal put Thomas down by four early in the second. Finally, on a quick cross from
Findlay Cook,
Cameron Hawkins put the Night Hawks on the board, and then a penalty kick from
Ethan Moore brought the lead down to two, but the comeback was cut short as time expired.
Thomas will play again this Saturday at 5:00 pm on the road against former conference foe SCAD-Savannah.
