Jackson, TN | The Night Hawks (28-23, 13-17 SSAC) learned mid-afternoon on Friday that there 2024 baseball season was over. The decision was a mutual decision by the SSAC Office, the Night Hawks, and their opponent, Middle Georgia State.
With both teams mathematically eliminated from winning their pool in the SSAC Baseball Championships, and potential weather in the Jackson area, the decision was made to cancel the game and allow a game with championship implications, in the other pool, to play in the Thomas vs. Middle Georgia time slot.
Coach
Tom Fleenor stated, "With the rain forecasted for the rest of the day, and our game not really meaning anything, in the grand scheme of things, we are heading home. Close the book on 2024!"
The Night Hawks finished the season with their best record since making the NAIA Baseball Tournament in 2019. Thomas has also won 20 games for two consecutive years, and the 2024 season is the best under Coach Fleenor, as head coach, with 28 wins.
