MIAMI GARDENS, Fla - Despite a game opening kickoff return for a touchdown, Thomas fell behind and could not keep pace with Florida Memorial on Saturday afternoon at Betty T. Ferguson Stadium in a SUN Conference contest.
After Jahiem James took the opening kickoff 81 yards to the house, the Lions scored two touchdowns 15 seconds apart to take a 14-7 lead two minutes in. From there, Florida Memorial did not slow down taking a sizable lead into the locker room. Starting off the second half,
Dylan Johnson ripped though the defense for a 43 yard touchdown run, however the Lions answered right back with a touchdown of their own before the Night Hawks again traded scores with a
Jarek Foster 27 yard reception to hit pay dirt from
Charles Britt late in the third but the Night Hawks could not get any closer.
Britt finished 7-15 for 86 yards and a touchdown to go along with 56 yards on the ground,
Demari Foster finished with 55 yards rushing on 12 attempts and
Dylan Johnson had 47 yards rushing and a touchdown.
The Night Hawks return home for homecoming next week against No.5 St. Thomas on Saturday, November 9th at 12:00pm.
