THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The Thomas Night Hawks hosted the No. 1 Seahawks of Keiser in their Sun Conference opener Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Keiser claimed a conference win, but the Night Hawks were still hitting and running to the ball in the late-afternoon South Georgia heat.
Junior Mustapha Kromah led the effort with 10 tackles. Marcus Rosier and Zakari Henderson each finished with six stops. Henderson also had a pass breakup and a tackle for loss. Aj Traylor and Sekhi Ashley each added four tackles. Terrell Seward and Zach Sandell both pressured the quarterback. In all, the Thomas defense combined for 56 tackles.
On offense, Roshaun Dudley carried the ground game, running 14 times for 43 yards, including a 15-yard burst that was the Night Hawks' longest rush of the day. Connor Langford spread the ball around to six different receivers. Aaron Wilson made a 12-yard catch for the longest completion, and Brennan Maye-Jordan led all receivers with two catches for 15 yards. Tre Woodson, De'Vijion Woodie and Jaden Paulk also caught passes.
Braxton Crawford punted seven times for 243 yards with a long of 49. Ty'Won Walker added a 16-yard kickoff return.
Thomas now turns the page to a big opportunity. The Night Hawks will face No. 14 Southeastern University on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. ET for Survivor Night, where fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of those affected by cancer.
