Thomas University is proud to announce that five of its student-athletes have been selected for the Sun Baseball All-Conference Accolades. Angel Wydra, Bryace Bitting, Matthew Delay, Jr., Luis Rodriquez-Gallo, and Riley Fisher have all been recognized for their outstanding performance on and off the field.
Angel Wydra (FR, Fort Pierce, FL) was selected as the Freshman of the Year. Wydra was the starting pitcher in four Thomas victories this season. The first-year Nighthawk is a right-handed pitcher who leads Thomas in innings pitched at 74, good for fifth best in the conference. Wydra made 13 appearances holding a 5.35 ERA and holding opponents to a .281 batting average. Wydra allowed 44 earned runs and had 40 strikeouts.
Bryce Bitting (SO, Taveras, FL) was named the Champion of Character. Bryce Bitting is a member of the Leadership group within Goalline Ministries, a non-denominational Christian organization that serves the students of Thomas University. He also plays in the student-led band that plays at our monthly Survivor events (a Goalline Ministries function for student-athletes). He also started and leads a weekly bible study for our baseball team, and anyone else that wants to attend. Bryce also volunteers often for his local church back home in Taveras, Fla.  Â
Matthew Delay, Jr. (SO, Altamonte Springs, FL) started all 49 games for the Night Hawks. Delay led the Night Hawks in batting average at .376, hits (68), runs scored (57), walks (33), and total bases (99). Delay was second on the team in home runs (5). Delay was tied for second in stolen bases with 12 and doubles with 12.

The second-team featured Luis Rodriguez-Gallo and Riley Fisher. Gallo (R-JR, Miami, Fla) led the team with six home runs, was second on the team in batting average at .331, and third in hits with 51, while playing the catcher position.
Riley Fisher (SO, Brooksville, FL) led the team with a 3.24 ERA, while compiling a 4-3 record in eight starts, with 41.2 innings of action. Opponents batter .237 against Fisher. Fisher was third in strikeouts with 50. Â
