Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Thomas University baseball team lost, 8-1, to Edward Waters University Wednesday afternoon at Henry L. Aaron Field at James P. Small Memorial Park.
The Night Hawks fall to 2-9 on the season while EWU improves to 4-2.
EWU collected three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings before Thomas scored one in the seventh. The Tigers then added two more in the eighth to earn the 8-1 win.
With one out in the seventh,
Michael Sowers and Matthew Delay, Jr. each drew a walk.
Jean Pool Checo sent a fly ball to right field, advancing Sowers to third, then Sowers scored on the throw.
Jacob Granger started the game for Thomas, and took the loss after allowing three runs from six hits in 4.2 innings.
The Night Hawks are back in action on Friday in Lawrenceville, Ga., facing Georgia Gwinnett College at 3 p.m.
