Box Score 2 COCHRAN, Ga. – The Thomas University baseball team earned its first two wins of the season, defeating Middle Georgia State 9-3 and 12-3 in Sunday's double header.

Thomas is now 2-8 on the season.

The Night Hawks next face Edward Waters on Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. in Jacksonville, Fla.

Game One
Thomas collected 15 hits in seven innings to take the 9-3 win, the team's first victory of the season.

The Night Hawks plated one run in each of the first three innings before MGS put one run on the board in the fourth. TU answered with five runs in the fifth. Both teams scored in the seventh, with TU plating one and Middle Georgia scoring two runs.

Khadin Bastian went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a pair of RBI. Matthew Delay, Jr., was 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored while
Cam Williams went 3-for-3 with a double and a pair of drawn walks.
Michael Sowers also had a double as he went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored.

Alex Friesen went the distance on the mound for Thomas, striking out eight batters and allowing three runs, all earned, from six hits in 7.0 innings.

Game Two
Thomas again rattled the bats in the second game, connecting on 16 hits, scoring 12 runs. Thomas scored a pair of runs in the second, and MGS cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the frame. The Night Hawks exploded for eight runs in the third and added another in the sixth. The Knights scored a pair in the bottom of the sixth, then TU added one more in the seventh to earn the 12-3 victory.

Delay, Jr., tallied his second three-hit game of the day, going 3-for-5. Sowers also had his second multi-hit game of the day as he went 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Cam Williams connected on his second double of the day, going 2-fo-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Riley Fisher earned the win after striking out six over 4.0 innings. He gave up six hits and allowed just one earned run.
